What's New in ELA/ESL Education?

Hi everyone. The 2007-2008 school year has just begun, and I am very excited about working with all of my students, new faculty members, and returning colleagues.


Here are some important events coming up for Track B.

-July 19 ID Pictures, Tracks B/C
-July 26 Back to School Night, Tracks B/C

ESL 4 Students-
We will finish up High Point, units 4 and 5 and then will begin reading, To Kill a Mockingbird. We will also continue to tune up our writing skills, and we will visit the Vantage Lab once a week. And don't forget to continue to keep up with your AR books; the more you read, the more points you get.

ESL 1 A Students-
We begin with our High Point texts and consumables. The immediate goal is to begin building on sight words and vocabulary to formulate simple sentences and to be able to introduce ourselves.

ESS Students-
We will be ordering new text books to replace the current Kaplan series used for Saturday School. I encourage all of you to continue with the AR reading program, and I anticipate classroom participation of the Vantage Writing Lab.
